Friday Finishes...! w/UPDATES

Got some finishes in this week that were long overdue.  First in this All-Star line-up, the QFC Veteran's quilt I've been working on for the past week off and on, in between binding those QBBs:

This gorgeous embroidered and paper-pieced star combo coming off the frame

Center embroidered Eagle block - outstanding!
McTavishing this quilt was sooo much FUN!
I used clear mono-poly to outline/SID and McTavish quilt the embroidered blocks, (and most were also enhanced w/quilting to ensure they lay nice and flat using the mono-poly), Rainbows Patriotic was used in the borders with Maxilock in the bobbin - my ALL-time favorite bobbin thread!  Even Professional Quilt Artist, Bonnie K. Hunter uses Maxilock to quilt with...who knew?!?

Put the finishing Bauhaus panto touches on another Quilts Beyond Borders quilt:
This is QBB #7, 5 & 6 were finished up earlier this week ;-)

Bauhaus panto from urbanelementz.com using LAVA Krakatoa

Time for binding both of these treasures and get them ready to be shipped!

UPDATE 10/19/2013:  This quilt, along w/many others will be traveling to Syria for those children who are waiting patiently for their arrival.  You can read more here:  http://quiltsbeyondborders.wordpress.com/2013/10/19/more-quilts-for-syria/

AND a fellow online quilting buddy, Katy of Katyquilts also contributed her quilting expertise in a big way!  You can read ALL about it here:   http://katyquilts.wordpress.com/2013/10/19/quilts-beyond-borders-3/

It has been a real honor and loads of FUN participating in this Quilts Beyond Borders project and Kudos to EVERYONE on the QBB Team for all their untiring efforts!

Later,
~Deb
