While cutting out this clue, decided to convert one of my rolling carts into a 'cutting' cart - and it works great! I can move from pressing to cutting stations w/ease:
Rolling cart using for 'cutting' cart
It can hold two (2) baskets on each shelf. Once the baskets are full of their cut units, the baskets move easily to my sewing area. Now my cutting work is much more efficient and organized...win/WIN!
Have a Wonderful Holiday Week!

Please Note: ALL of my Magnificent BH Mysteries are SCRAPPY - including this one ;-)
Even though 'cutting' is NOT my favorite thing to do - cutting w/AccuQuilt GO! Big is my NEW fav thing! It makes such light and Fast & FUN work of a previously BORING task...Love it! (Additional pics of this Fab cutter can be found from Clue #2.)
Next comes a test block...lookin' pretty good!
Clue #3 Test Block
Once the cutting/testing was done, time to sew, Mama SEW!

This was a FUN Clue from Bonnie Hunter's Indigo Way Mystery - these Festive & FUN fabrics from Moda made me smile while they were being fed through my sewing machine:
Chain-piecing the first side while singing Fa La La in my head ;-)
Even when I 'Did it WRONG', still had to smile at my zeal to get started sewing these FUN fabrics:
Sewing the units WRONG - notice the piece on Top is UPSIDE Down...OOPS! Time for 'ol Jack the Ripper' to make his necessary appearance in this clue...MORE than Once he showed up!!!
An early Christmas present to self - w/Cyber Monday 72% discount and my Saved Up Points ;-)
A couple of months ago, I broke my right elbow in two places and cutting with rulers and a rotary cutter or scissors has been next to impossible, just too painful after a few minutes.
But now, I can cut a few chunks of fabric and run them thru this electric cutter:
Fast & FUN - my kinda cutting!
And when they said it was BIG - they were NOT lying...
It can even handle up totwo (2) 6" dies at a time and SIX layers of fabrics!
I really enjoy watching the die w/fabric run thru this cutter:
Clue #2 neutral fabric going thru die
ALL perfectly cut units:
Freshly cut units w/little waste
...and here are ALL the units from Clue #2 ready to be assembled - fairly quickly & perfectly cut = a Joy to sew together since ALL the units line up again...PERFECTLY!
Clue #2 ALL cut and ready to be sewn
The die I used helped make quick and pain-free cutting work of this Clue!
GO! die
Some of the FUN/Festive fabric - I love what the selvages have to say:

While chatting with a Dear Quilty Friend, the War in Israel came up and we both mentioned we would like to do 'something' to show our support for Israel while utilizing our quilting skills, and naturally the idea of a Tribute Quilt was born - incorporating the 6-pointed Star to represent Israel's 'Star of David'.
Star of David quilt block - 6 pointed star
I decided to do a quick search for 6-pointed Star quilt blocks and stumbled across Jenny of Missouri Star's quilt tutorial on the Rhombus Star, which seemd just right!
While waiting for my Missouri Star purchases to arrive, I downloaded my digital quilt pattern and while going over it, I started wondering IF I happened to have an Accuquilt die that could possibly work?
I discovered I had a 60 degree Studio Diamond die that 'seemed to' fit the dimensions of the Rhombus Star templates so, gave it a try.
Studio Diamond die #50653
After a little trial & error and pulling out a Silver marker to add some additional markings to this die:
Studio Diamond die w/outline/boundary markings - including seam allowance for Half-Diamond
and sifting through my stash for some Royal Blue & white fabrics,
Royal Blue/White fabrics - cut into block pieces
I was off to the races - chain piecing the Star Blade units:

Once Jenny's Rhombus Templates and fabrics arrive, will be creating a 'smaller' version...NO worries!
Feel free to join in and show your support for Israel and her Survivors through your quilt-making by creating your own Tribute Quilt to Israel.
America The Beautiful II just came up in Miss Betty's quilting queue, and the perfect quilting design needed to be chosen to enhance this gorgeous patriotic quilt - and we think you'll agree.. we found it!
America the Beautiful II - coming off the quilt frame
Setting up this design was a piece-o-cake w/Miss Betty's computer. While I still enjoy plenty of 'freehand/ruler work quilting, AI computer quilting is Lots of FUN:
AI computing at its finest ;-)
Just look at this Beautiful Star quilting:

The back is almost as stunning as the front!

This finished Patriotic quilt will soon be Awarded to an Illaiana Vet to Honor their Service and Sacrifice for our country...Thank YOU.
We have incredible Volunteer toppers who create 'unique' patriotic quilt tops for our Illiana Quilts of Honor Chapter - one, who has been with us since the very Beginning of our Patriotic quilting adventures, and one we've fondly nicknamed our 'Strip Quilting Diva', because she LOVES to create one-of-a-kind strip quilts in the HUNDREDS...Literally! And occasionally, she sometimes creates a very unique quilt that we are challeneged to quilt!
This is one of those quilts. I really liked it however, I have had a very difficult time trying to decide just how to quilt it. Not wishing to go 'custom' quilting - since most of our Vets/Service Members prefer a softer/huggable quilt that custom 'usually' does not afford. E2E quilting fills this bill nicely but...which one?
On this quilt - because of it's unique design, decided to just 'stack' the fans. On another quilt, will probably 'alternate' the fans - either way seems to quilt out nicely with this design.
Quilting the Fans & Stars
Quilted w/Gold Glide thread in the needle and Silver Glide in the bobbin with Hobbs 80/20 - quilted out Fast w/gorgeous stitching!
The Quilting back really shows this neat design
And that's it for today's quilting - check back later next week for another 'blast from the past' quilt to be quilted ;-)
Wednesday afternoon quilting at it finest - American The Beautiful I gets quilted! (I liked this panel design sooooo much, I made three (3) different Patriotic quilts from them ;-)
Becker's Shooting Star digital quilting design from UrbanElementz.com quilted just 'Beautifully' on this quilt, (pun accidentally intended, so I left it), w/Robison-Anton Silver in the needle and the bobbin. And it was quilted utilizing one of my very fav ways to quilt - sideways...NO worries!

A few quilting close-ups - love that a 'swirl' ended up smack-dab in the middle of one of the pieced stars...Awesome!

Finishing up on that Final Border
and the flip-over to the back...lookin' Good!
Take a 'sigh' of relief when the 'flipover to the back' looks good ;-)
This 'America The Beautiful' Patriotic quilt was 'another' of our Sweet Freedom Mysteries - and one of our favs, to be Awarded to a very special Vet for their Service and Sacrifice for our Country.
Thursday/Friday quilting will bring some Surprises/blasts from the past w/Strip Quilting Diva...Stay Tuned!
What a great way to start our quilting week! This quilt top has been in 'the pile' for longer than I care to admit but FINALLY, it's # came up - soooo glad, too...What FUN to quilt this beauty!
Quiltied w/Robison-Anton Cloud thread - helping to create that 'Starry Night' effect. We think it worked out quite well ;-)
And the Quilting Begins!

This quilt is a result of one of our Sweet Freedom Mysteries. We had such a wonderful time creating these Beautiful Patriotic quilts to Honor our Beloved Combat Vets and Service Members for their Service and Sacrifice for our Country.
This quilt - along with several others coming up in our quilt queau, will be awarded via our Illiana Quilts Of Honor Chapter.
